Books Books Books

Ooh, only 33%. But I've read LOADS of books. Mind you, there's no Stephen King up there. Only one Iain Banks. No Murakami. No Zadie Smith; Carl Hiaasen; Lee Childs; Grahame Greene; Anthony Burgess; DH Lawrence; Agatha Christie; Michael Connelly; Robert Crais; Harlan Coben; Dennis Lehane. No Spike Milligan. No PG Wodehouse. No Nick Hornby. No Roddy Doyle. No Raymond Chandler or Dashiel Hammett.

I would go on. But I'm running out of virtual ink...

Ooh - I love these lists! Done mine over at my blog...

There's some on here that you really must read (but no asterisks). Course, you might not agree, some of my favourite ever books here that you were less than impressed with, apparently...

So, for what it's worth, my recommendations are: 15, 22, 37, 47 & 84.

:o)

I strongly recommend "The Shadow of the Wind." It's a book about books and a good drama / thriller. Makes good holiday reading.

Hmmm... Well, I thought I'd marked 22 (Great Gatsby) with an asterisk. But I hadn't. So I've gone back and updated it.

"The Shadow of the Wind" was recommended to me by Chux a couple of years ago - great book! And I can't believe neither you nor Jo have read "A Tale of Two Cities." What? Do they only make American kids read Dickens in school, or did you read the Cliffs Notes just to pass the test? I love ATTC, by the way. :-) And, yeah, I did read it.

I have read 42 of them, which is less than I thought I would have done!
